Project Overview
We are producing a 2–3 minute proof-of-concept (sizzle reel) for Phil’s Corner, a live-action children’s series featuring puppetry and a human lead. The project is designed to demonstrate tone, educational value, and production style for pitching to networks, partners, and investors.
The production will be a one-day studio shoot with pre-production and post-production support.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Line Producer / Production Manager to oversee and execute all logistical and production elements of the project from pre-production through post-production, working within a defined budget.
You will be responsible for building the production from the ground up, including hiring crew, securing locations, coordinating schedules, and delivering a finished, professionally edited demo reel.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Production
Break down script and develop a realistic production plan + budget
Source and book:
Studio / filming location
Crew (camera, lighting, sound, etc.)
Child wrangler (if required)
Wardrobe and basic set/props
Coordinate scheduling for all cast and crew
Assist in securing any necessary permits, insurance, or releases
Collaborate with creator on creative needs specific to puppetry production
Production (Shoot Day)
Oversee all logistics during the shoot
Ensure production stays on schedule and within budget
Manage crew and coordinate departments
Problem-solve in real time
Post-Production
Coordinate editing, sound design, and final delivery
Manage timeline for rough cut - final cut
Ensure final product is polished and pitch-ready
Project-Specific Requirements (Important)
This project involves puppetry and children’s content, so experience or willingness to adapt is critical.
Ability to accommodate puppeteers performing below frame
Understanding of studio-based shooting with controlled environments
Sensitivity to performance timing and pacing for preschool audiences
Willingness to collaborate closely with the creator, who will lead creative direction
Budget & Scope
Total production budget: ~$25,000–$30,000 *including producer payment
Producer will be responsible for allocating and managing this budget efficiently
This is a short-form, one-day shoot, not a full series production
Ideal Candidate
Experience as a Line Producer, Production Manager, or Commercial Producer
Strong network of local crew and vendors
Experience working on:
Short-form content, commercials, or TV segments
Ability to scale production to fit budget
Highly organized, communicative, and solution-oriented
