Study on the use of AI coding assistants
Budget: $35 – $40 USD
We invite you to participate in a research study being conducted at the Colorado School of Mines.
We are interested in the use of AI coding assistants.
The procedures involve completing four different programming problems and taking a follow-up survey. The whole study will take no longer than 2 hours. The programming problems will take you no more than 1.5 hours to complete and the follow-up survey will take you about 30 minutes to complete. The programming problems will ask you to complete a task using AI code suggestions in C and the follow-up survey will ask you questions about the tasks you completed, as well as questions about your general development experience. You will be compensated $35 at the completion of the study. All submissions will be evaluated for correctness, and a $5 bonus will be awarded for solutions that meet a high correctness threshold.
