GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This project consists of the creation, maintenance and implementation of a Virtual Library of Digital Publications in PDF and EPUB format that allows users to upload, search, assign and view them, as well as access to an administration and control panel from which they can control and modify all aspects of the Library, upload new publications and access key metrics and reports on the use and consumption of the library and its publications.
PLATFORM SPECIFICATIONS
Own viewer of publications in PDF and EPUB format that allows to enrich the consumption and reading of publications from where the user or reader can:
- Authenticate using their own credentials.
- Option to subscribe to all or part of the platform.
- Connection with my company (so that, for example, if customers upload a file, it is also available in my company's virtual library, or if they have folders of annotations, they can manage them and even share them with other subscribers).
- View all available publications
- Filter by "metadata" to find publications
- Purchase (free or paid) documentation and publications
- Underline the contents of documents or publications and create abstracts
- Translate text to and from any language
- Transform text to audio automatically
- Use the search engine to find keywords in the text.
- View the contents from any device.
- Printing (with page limit; for example, 20/month) and the possibility of printing with and without annotations.
- Possibility to stop viewing annotations (i.e. clean book).
- Streaming reading is possible, but also offline.
- Allow to structure our publications.
- Search engine (both on the platform and in each of the publications).
On the other hand, the administrator user will be able to:
- Control all aspects of the Library
- Modify the visual aspect of the Library
- Create different plans, paid or free, with access differentiated by content or user.
- Access the complete list of users.
- Edit users
- Create new users
- Assign and remove publications to users
- Upload new publications directly and immediately in PDF and/or EPUB format.
- Define metadata and prices of publications in one or two currencies.
- View usage statistics (users, reading, consumption, and sessions) and use them in Marketing campaigns, Big Data Analysis, etc.
- Through an API you will be able to automate the uploading of PDF publications. We are talking about a large volume, which can host unlimited publications (we would upload them automatically through metadata).
- Configure preferred payment methods (PayPal, Stripe, MercadoPago, PayU) Create discount coupons for use in marketing campaigns.
- Access Support
- Communicate with users through manual or automatic e-mails.
- Define the number of simultaneous sessions per publication and per user.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND SECURITY
The main security measures are:
1. The user cannot physically download anything, all the visualization is only through the library.
2. Everything is encrypted and we also use SSL certificates to encrypt communications between the application and the users.
3. We also implement several layers of security such as: The publication is secured with a password that is only known to the application, this means that it can only be opened through the library. The original files are decomposed on the server and recomposed only when a user requests it through the library.
4. If the subscriber unsubscribes, these "files" should no longer be available.
