Sourcing Agent Needed for Honed Slate Flagstone & Renovation Materials from China
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
Description:
I'm looking to hire a reliable and experienced sourcing agent with strong connections and a proven track record in importing renovation materials from China — with an immediate focus on honed slate flagstone.
Materials Needed:
Honed slate flagstone (priority item); one consistent colour, green or brown
Potential future items may include countertops, flooring, and other reno finishes (I’ll provide reference photos)
Scope of Work:
Source product options based on my visual and material requirements
Vet suppliers for quality, reliability, and responsiveness
Negotiate pricing and minimum order quantities
Confirm availability of samples — samples must be sent to me in Canada for review before any bulk order is placed
Collect detailed product info (materials, dimensions, finish, lead time, etc.)
Summarize top 2–3 supplier options for each product with pricing, lead times, and contact details and be able to share it seamlessly with me
Advise on shipping/logistics or coordinate it if possible
Assist with order placement if needed (I may not currently have access to Alibaba)
Ideal Candidate Has:
Sourcing experience with renovation materials, especially stone/tile products
Strong supplier communication and negotiation skills
Understanding of quality assurance and sample coordination
Familiarity with international logistics and shipping to Canada
I’ll be paying suppliers directly, but I need someone to handle supplier communication and vetting upfront to ensure I only deal with trusted vendors. If this first material goes well, there could be ongoing sourcing work for a large residential renovation project.
