Freelance / Contract Business Analyst ~ 12-Week MVP for Salon-Booking Marketplace

Project Overview

We are an early-stage startup building a multi-tenant booking platform for barbers, beauty and nail salons. Our goal is to ship a lean but scalable MVP—matching the speed and polish of Setmore or Booksy—in just eight weeks. We need an experienced Business Analyst (BA) to own requirements, keep scope tight, and translate vision into a crystal-clear delivery plan for our design and development team.

Your Mission

- Elicit and document business objectives, user personas, and success metrics
- Produce a concise Product Requirements Document (PRD) / backlog ready for agile sprints
- Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and priority tags in a groomed Jira board (or your preferred agile tool)
- Coordinate with founders, UI/UX designer, and Flutter/Firebase devs to validate scope, surface risks, and keep the build on schedule
- Create simple wireflows or annotate Figma files to clarify edge cases (no heavy design work—just clarity)
- Track requirements changes, manage MVP vs. post-MVP feature list, and champion lean decision-making
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and weekly demo/review sessions

Must-Have Skills

- 4 + years in product/requirements analysis for SaaS or marketplace products
- Proven delivery of at least one green-field MVP under tight deadlines
- Excellent written English—able to turn fuzzy ideas into atomic user stories
- Familiarity with Flutter/Firebase ecosystems (you don’t need to code, but must speak dev language)
- Strong command of agile ceremonies, Jira (or similar), and basic analytics terminology
- Proactive communication—comfortable driving clarity in fully remote teams

Nice-to-Have

- Experience with multi-tenant architectures, booking flows, or payment integrations
- Exposure to beauty / wellness tech or small-business SaaS
- Ability to run lightweight competitor teardown and translate findings into backlog items
