Senior Sportswear Product Development Expert (China Specialist)

Job ID: 40361030

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

Overview
We are a high-volume international sportswear brand moving from generic DTC products to high-performance, engineered apparel. We are seeking a Senior Product Development Expert with deep factory management roots to act as our technical lead in China.

This is not a sourcing role. We need a professional who has spent years on the factory floor and understands the "DNA" of a garment—from the first yarn selection to the final quality audit.

Core Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Development: Translate brand concepts and "body-care" visions into rigorous, production-ready Tech Packs.
2. Material & Process Engineering: Define precise fabric compositions (Nylon 6.6, Lycra blends), GSM, and construction techniques (Seamless, Flatlock, Bonding).
3. Factory & Quality Oversight: Use your factory-manager background to challenge supplier timelines, cost structures, and technical limitations.
4. Market-Driven Innovation: Apply your understanding of market trends to suggest functional improvements that provide a competitive edge.
5. Quality Architecture: Establish clear pass/fail thresholds and SOPs for incoming materials and finished goods (AQL standards).

Requirements
1. Factory Experience: Must have a background as a Factory Manager or Senior PD Lead within a specialized sportswear/activewear facility.
2. Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of technical textiles, compression grading (mmHg), and high-elasticity garment engineering.
3. Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance technical constraints with market positioning (Premium vs. Performance vs. Essential).
4. China Specialist: Deeply rooted in the Chinese manufacturing ecosystem; able to navigate factory politics and ensure our interests are prioritized.

Language: Nice to speak English but not mandatory.

Availability: Potential for on-ground support/collaboration in China during the May 2026 trade show season (Canton Fair, Link Fashion, etc.).

How to Apply
1. Briefly describe your experience in managing sportswear production lines.
2. Mention 2-3 specific technical challenges you solved during the development phase of a performance garment.
3. Confirm your understanding of Nylon 6.6 vs. Nylon 6 and their impact on premium activewear.
4. Include the phrase "EcommExpert" at the top of your proposal.
