Freelance Apparel Product Designer & Development Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Apparel Product Designer / Product Development Consultant to lead the complete development of a premium uniform collection from concept through production readiness.

This is not a tech pack-only project. We are looking for one professional who can own the entire product development lifecycle.

Project Scope

The project consists of approximately 6 coordinated garment styles across multiple functional categories.

The selected freelancer will be responsible for taking the project from concept development through sampling and production support.

Responsibilities
1. Design & Concept Development
Understand project requirements
Develop garment concepts and styling direction
Create mood boards where required
Recommend colour and material combinations
Present design concepts and incorporate feedback
Finalize garment designs
2. Product Development
Identify and recommend suitable fabrics
Recommend trims and accessories
Develop garment construction details
Prepare technical flats
Create measurement specifications
Develop production documentation where required
Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM)
Coordinate prototype development
3. Sampling
Coordinate sample development with manufacturing partners
Review prototype quality
Conduct fit reviews
Recommend corrections
Finalize pre-production samples
4. Production Support
Support vendor during production
Clarify technical queries
Review production samples
Assist with quality consistency
Support production until completion
