Laundry Detergent Formula Development
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I’m creating a new liquid laundry detergent and need a chemical engineer who can design a robust, scalable formula. The product has to hit a sweet spot: powerful enough to lift heavy-duty stains yet gentle on delicate fibres, so it can safely cover virtually every fabric that lands in a washing machine.
Here’s what I expect from the engagement:
• A complete ingredient list with exact percentages and clear justification for each component (surfactant blend, builders, enzymes, stabilisers, fragrance, preservative, etc.).
• Step-by-step manufacturing instructions for both lab batches and pilot-scale production.
• Performance and stability test protocols I can replicate (viscosity, pH, phase separation, cleaning efficacy on standard stain swatches).
• Guidance on raw-material sourcing and a cost-per-litre estimate at moderate production volumes.
• Suggestions for greener chemistry—minimising harsh solvents or phosphates where possible—without sacrificing cleaning power or fabric safety.
Regulatory compliance is important, so familiarity with REACH, EPA Safer Choice, or equivalent regional standards will be useful. Experience using tools such as HLB calculations, Brookfield viscometers, and UV-Vis or titration methods for surfactant actives is a plus.
If you’ve formulated consumer laundry detergents before, especially all-purpose liquids that balance fabric care and tough stain removal, I’d love to see brief examples. Let’s collaborate on a detergent that cleans like a powerhouse yet treats every garment with care.
