Screwless Hinge Design for Optical Glass

Job ID: 40160143

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

I am developing a lightweight, high-comfort eyewear product for heavy daily users.
This project focuses on creating a completely new mechanical structure, not a modification of existing eyewear designs.

Key Requirements:

New Screwless Hinge Design

No traditional screws as the main hinge connection

Can be based on elastic deformation, snap-fit, integrated flexure, or other innovative mechanisms

Must support long-term, high-frequency opening and closing

Integrated & Adjustable Nose Pad System

Nose pads integrated with the frame (no separate pad arms)

Allow limited adjustability for comfort and fit

Designed for long-term wear, suitable for Asian facial features

Structural Reliability

Intended for daily, long-hour use

Basic consideration of fatigue, deformation, and failure modes (concept-level evaluation is sufficient)

Material & Weight Constraints:

Material: Titanium / Beta Titanium (or justified alternatives)

Target total frame weight: ≤ 12g (lenses excluded, estimation acceptable)

Deliverables:

Written explanation of the screwless hinge mechanism (how it works, force path)

Assemblable 3D CAD concept model (STEP or equivalent)

Brief feasibility and risk notes (manufacturing and durability)
