Plastic Pill-Shaped Storage Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
The project involves designing a simple, oblong, pill-shaped storage container. Non-toxic and wear-resistant plastic will be used for its construction. This object's intended use is storage, so the interior dimensions are important. Here are the details:
- There would be two pieces that separate; one piece would fit inside the other and twist to interlock. There should be small arrows or something to indicate the alignment and where the lock engages so putting it back together is quick and easy.
- The interior should be 4 inches in diameter and 16 inches long. Wall thickness should be about 0.25 inches.
- The bottom piece should be flat on the closed end so it can stand up and be 14 inches of interior space. The top would have a spherical outside shape on it's closed end and be the remaining 2 inches.
- Once the two pieces are together and locked it should have a small flat area along the overall length so it doesn't roll when laying on it's side.
Skills and Experience:
- Solid experience in plastic product design and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with the nuances of product design for storage.
- Attention to detail in both function and aesthetics.
- Ability to optimize space in design.
File format: STL
