Fabric Prototype Developer

Job ID: 39538335

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

We are developing a unique luxury tea product in the shape of a lotus flower. The tea bag will be composed of three separate textile layers (base pouch, structural petals, decorative bloom) and must hold real tea leaves while maintaining a sculptural flower shape. We are looking for a skilled fabric artisan, tailor, or soft-goods prototype maker to help bring this concept to life.

Responsibilities:

Create a functional and beautiful prototype of a lotus tea bag using our 3-layer design

Translate design sketches and petal outlines into fabric cutouts

Assemble and stitch (or press) the base tea pouch, middle petals, and top bloom

Suggest optimal materials (PLA mesh, food-grade nonwoven, tulle, etc.) for structure and elegance

Ensure the tea bag can be sealed and hold 2–3g of loose tea

Maintain proportions so the final flower fits within a 12x12 cm envelope

Work with user-provided visual references and outlines

Skills Required:

Experience with fabric prototyping, tailoring, or product sample making

Precision in cutting and assembling fabric layers

Knowledge of textile shaping tools (e.g., ultrasonic scissors, heat presses, or sewing machines)

Creative problem-solving for structure and durability

Basic understanding of food-safe materials is a plus

Deliverables:

1–3 handmade prototypes of the lotus tea bag

Suggestions for refining shape, material selection, and feasibility for scale

Optional: cutting patterns or templates for future molds

Project Type: One-time prototype development
Location: Remote
