Custom Electronic Enclosure Design
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
We are looking for an experienced designer to develop a custom enclosure for our electronic product, which includes a 4.2" screen. The enclosure should be optimized for vacuum casting (low-volume production) and must protect the internal components while maintaining a sleek, professional look.
Key Responsibilities:
Design a functional and aesthetically appealing enclosure around an integrated screen.
Ensure the design is optimized for vacuum casting (e.g., parting lines, draft angles, wall thickness).
Incorporate necessary mechanical features such as snap-fits, bosses, ribs, etc., as needed.
Collaborate on iterating the design based on feedback, ensuring all dimensional and functional requirements are met.
Provide final CAD files (STEP, IGES, or other mutually agreed formats) and technical drawings/specifications.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in designing enclosures for electronics (portfolios showcasing enclosure work are highly preferred).
Expertise in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or similar).
Strong knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), particularly for vacuum casting (or other rapid prototyping methods).
Familiarity with integrating display screens, PCBs, and other electronic components into enclosure designs.
Ability to recommend material choices suited for vacuum casting and propose suitable finishing options.
Good communication skills for collaboration and design reviews.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with other small-scale production methods (e.g., injection molding, 3D printing).
Basic knowledge of electronics to better understand internal layout constraints.
Experience creating photorealistic renders or concept illustrations.
Project Scope:
Discuss project requirements and constraints (dimensions, internal components, environmental requirements, etc.).
Develop initial concept sketches or rough prototypes for review.
Finalize the design and deliver all necessary CAD files.
Provide a short report on design rationale and manufacturing feasibility for vacuum casting.
