Benchtop Lab Instrument CAD/CAM Design and Simulation

Job ID: 39365018

Budget: $350 – $600 USD

Project Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) with expertise in CAD/CAM design and simulation of automated electromechanical systems. The objective is to develop a benchtop laboratory instrument capable of performing radio frequency (RF) sealing of packaged SBS cryovials positioned on an SBS rack. The design and simulation will be utilized for prototyping and marketing purposes.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Design Objectives:
- Develop a compact, benchtop automated instrument for RF sealing of SBS cryovials.
- Ensure compatibility with standard SBS racks and cryovials.
- Ensure user-friendly interfaces.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD/CAM design.
- Experience with electronic schematic CAD/CAM design.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Background in research and development (R&D) of laboratory instruments.
- General familiarity with standard SBS cryovials and racks.
- General understanding of automated capping and decapping mechanisms for SBS cryovials.
- Prior experience with ODM projects related to robotics and automation devices.

Resources Provided:
- 2D sketches illustrating the instrument's design and its main components with labeled references.
- Documented descriptions of equipment operation steps.
- Precise dimensions of SBS cryovials, racks, and packaging films to be processed.
- Comprehensive project briefing during the interview phase. Proprietary information will be disclosed during an interview.

DELIVERABLES

Design Deliverables:
- Complete 3D mechanical CAD model of the instrument.
- Complete electronic schematic CAD model and PCB layouts.
- Detailed 2D technical drawings for manufacturing purposes.
- All source files related to the design.

Simulation Deliverables:
- A simulation video (60 seconds or less) demonstrating the complete sealing process of SBS cryovials in a rack with descriptive annotations.
- Source files of the simulation for further analysis and presentations.

Project Timeline:
- The expected duration for the completion of the project will be discussed and agreed upon during an interview.

Interested designers are invited to submit their proposals, highlighting relevant experience and previous projects related to automated electromechanical systems and laboratory instruments. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a short interview to discuss project details. This project will be upgraded within a week to include an NDA and IP Agreement.
