It’s not about the technology or tools I'm using, but rather what I did with those tools to produce value.
USE POINTERS BELOW TO REVIEW MY RESUME
Here’s an example:
- Vague: "Conducted research and analytical studies on a variety of programs and issues."
☑️ Personalized with Results: "Conducted extensive market research, coupled with multiple promotional presentations, leading to a highly successful product redesign/launch of hosted online banking and bill pay application and a 50% increase in Net Promoter Score."
How to provide evidence of value:
CAR format. Challenge, Action, Result. Lead with unique action verbs. The thesaurus is your friend. Instead of led, opt for delegate. Instead of perform, try complete or implement.
Qualify. If you are having a hard time adding measurable accomplishments, think Growth/Reduction. What was your impact? How often did you perform the task?
No KPI’s or metrics? Use subjective measurements like increase, doubled, saved, accelerated, What projects have you worked on? What business relationships did you develop? Did you implement a new business process or roll out a tech system? Share client or industry info, if not confidential.
If you copied and pasted the job description you applied to years ago with no context of accomplishments, I don't know what you did.
- Recruiter insider tip: Two bullet points of results are more informative than 6 bullet points of generic responsibilities.
