China-Based Procurement Specialist for E-Commerce (Chinese Locals Only)
Budget: £10 – £20 GBP
I am an e-commerce seller sourcing for global platforms like Amazon. I am looking for a sharp, aggressive, and experienced Sourcing & Procurement Specialist based in China to join my team.
The core objective of this role is to bypass online trading companies, distributors, and the typical online markup found on popular wholesale websites. We need to secure true, bottom-tier ex-factory (EXW) pricing directly from primary manufacturers so that we can compete head-to-head with Chinese domestic sellers.
Our supply chains cross major coastal manufacturing hubs and industrial port cities. You must be willing and able to travel to these primary industrial clusters for face-to-face negotiations and factory audits when required.
Key Responsibilities
Offline Supplier Discovery: Identify and vet primary-level, upstream manufacturers that do not heavily market on Western platforms or digital trading storefronts.
On-Site Factory Audits: Travel to regional manufacturing hubs to conduct initial audits, verify real manufacturing capabilities (distinguishing real factories from trading companies), and build face-to-face relationships (Guanxi).
Direct Price Negotiation: Negotiate unit pricing, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), tooling/mold costs, and payment terms directly with factory owners and production managers. You will be expected to leverage raw material costs to drive down prices.
Sample Coordination: Consolidate samples from various factories, inspect them locally for quality, and ship finalized samples to me.
Required Qualifications
Location: Must be physically located in mainland China with easy transit access to major manufacturing regions.
Language: Native Mandarin speaker with professional, fluent English (both written and spoken).
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing procurement, or sourcing for international e-commerce sellers.
Negotiation Skills: A proven track record of successfully lowering unit costs by dealing directly with factory bosses (laoban), not just front-facing sales staff.
Payment Terms & Structure (Read Carefully Before Bidding)
Phase 1 (Sourcing & Research): Paid via an agreed Hourly Rate or a Fixed Milestone per verified supplier list.
Phase 2 (Factory Travel & On-Site Audits): Handled via a pre-agreed Fixed Daily Rate plus reimbursement for pre-approved travel expenses (train, hotel, etc.).
Note: We do not work on a percentage-of-order-volume commission basis.
How to Bid (Anti-Bot Filter)
Freelancer.com has a lot of automated bot bidding. To prove you are a human and have read this description, please start your bid response with the words: "FACTORY DIRECT CHINA". Any bid without this phrase will be automatically deleted.
In your bid proposal, please briefly answer:
Where are you currently based in China, and which manufacturing hubs do you live closest to?
Give one brief example of a time you successfully negotiated a price down significantly by visiting a factory in person.
