Develop process to print directly onto unique substrate

I am looking to develop a process by which one off designs can be printed directly onto rubber and leather golf club grips.

All of my previous attempts at printing directly onto this type of material has resulted in poor durability and thus I am looking for some industry expertise that might be able to develop the correct combination of printer, adhesion promoter, primer, ink, etc to produce a high quality durable print.
