Sign Language Workbook Layout for KDP

The manuscript for my 181-page, 30-Day Sign Language Skills Workbook is complete. What I need now is a professionally designed, modern interior layout that meets KDP’s print specifications at an 8 × 10 trim size. All written content is finished—your role is creative layout and interior design only.
Design Direction
I’m looking for a modern, clean aesthetic in neutral tones that keeps the focus on the daily prompts while still feeling warm, accessible, and engaging for adult learners. The final workbook should look polished, uncluttered, and consistent from front to back.
I would like subtle ASL-related icons and symbols incorporated into section breaks, headers, page numbers, or small accents—nothing overwhelming and no full handshape illustrations. Short motivational ASL-related quotes may also be placed strategically to enrich the learning experience.
Functional Requirements
Writing lines must appear on each exercise page, using color code #A9A9A9, consistent throughout.
Each of the 30 daily sections should be visually distinct but unified under the same aesthetic.
Layout should follow KDP margin, bleed, and gutter rules for an 8×10 workbook.
Typography, spacing, and hierarchy should be clean, readable, and consistent across all 181 pages.
Deliverables
• Print-ready PDF that passes KDP’s bleed, margin, and embedded-font checks
• Source file (InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or comparable industry-standard format) with linked assets
• Consistent typographic hierarchy, spacing, line work, and page structure
• Creative elements (ASL icons/symbols + quotes) placed tastefully without crowding the writing space
Acceptance Criteria
• All 181 pages rebuilt, designed, and exported at 300 dpi, CMYK, with 0.125" bleed
• Facing pages turned off unless designer recommends otherwise for KDP purposes
• Writing lines and prompts aligned perfectly with no variation in spacing
• No copyrighted ASL illustrations added—only neutral, simple icons or line-based accents
• Successful upload through KDP’s interior preview tool without errors
Once the final PDF passes KDP’s pre-press checks, the project will be considered complete.
