Sailboat Graphic Design using a cricket theme
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I’m refitting a 7-metre sailboat that will race locally under the name “Lillee and Thompson,” a nod to the legendary Australian fast-bowling duo of the 1970s. I need a simple graphic package for both hull. I'd like to keep the cost down so there is no need to cover the whole hull. You should continue to use the white background of the hull. I'm looking for some sort of graphic at the front of the boat and a large name inside the boat. There is also a need for a smaller boat name for the cabin top. I've attached a PDF explaining the requirement.
Style & mood
Cricket imagery isn’t optional: stumps, seam-marked balls, or even bowling-action outlines are all welcome, provided they integrate cleanly with the boat’s lines. Tone down the vibrant colors. Maybe incorporate the old World Series Cricket logo. Lean into the 70s kitsch. Fonts should be consistent with 70's cricket coverage
Practical requirements
• Vector artwork sized and panel-mapped for a 7 m hull
• Files delivered as print-ready PDFs/SVGs compatible with Australian vinyl-wrap cutters (Roland, Mimaki, or similar).
• Clear call-outs for colour specs (Pantone or CMYK) and any layering instructions to ensure the wrap shop can cut and weed without guesswork.
What will win the job
Show me you understand how graphics distort along curved hulls and how sail panels stretch under load. If you’ve designed vehicle wraps, race boats, or large-format sporting graphics before, mention it. Initial concept sketches followed by unlimited refinement rounds will be ideal.
Send through a short note on your approach, a couple of relevant portfolio examples, and your expected timeline. I’m ready to start as soon as I find the right fit.
