The book is currently over 240 pages and requires precise preparation for both print and e-book formats.
Responsibilities
Format Print Layout: Design and format the interior of the book for print-on-demand services (e.g., KDP, IngramSpark), ensuring professional standards for margins, gutters, chapter headings, running heads, page numbering, and font selection.
Format E-book/Digital Layout: Create a clean, reflowable e-book file (EPUB and/or MOBI) that displays correctly across all major e-reader devices and platforms.
Handle Spanish Text: Ensure all Spanish punctuation (e.g., opening question marks/exclamation points) and special characters display correctly in both print and digital formats.
Integrate Elements: Properly integrate the Table of Contents, any provided images/charts (approximate number to be provided), and the author biography.
Quality Check: Perform meticulous proofing of the final formatted files to ensure zero errors in layout, hyperlinks, and text continuity before final delivery.
Provide Deliverables: Deliver finalized print-ready PDF files and final e-book files (EPUB, MOBI, or similar).
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience formatting non-fiction books (portfolio samples are required).
Expertise in professional formatting software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Vellum, Scrivener, or similar industry-standard tools).
Native or professional proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred, or proven experience formatting lengthy documents in Spanish, to ensure appropriate language flow and hyphenation.
