Project: Chosen 1 – A5 Devotional Booklet Series
Overview
Chosen 1 is a short-form devotional booklet series designed for real-life application of scripture. Each booklet is 20 pages, A5, intended to be portable, giftable, and emotionally grounding.
The series includes but not limited to
• Faith Tested (Adult)
• Faith-Filled Teens (Teen audience)

OBJECTIVES
• Create a cohesive series identity
• Ensure books feel premium but accessible
• Balance scripture reverence with modern design
• Design must work for faux leatherette embossing

DELIVERABLES
1. Series Visual System
• Font pairing (serif for scripture + clean sans-serif for reflections)
• Colour palette per series
• Page layout system (titles, breakdowns, reflections, prayers)

2. Book 1: Faith Tested (Adult)
Tone & Feel
• Calm, grounded, reflective
• Minimalist, mature, timeless
• Soft neutrals (beige, stone, clay)
Cover
• Soft neutral background
• Serif title
• Subtle texture (cracked pottery / refinement metaphor)
• Title suitable for blind emboss or gold foil
Interior
• Clean hierarchy
• Scripture clearly distinguished
• Reflection text slightly softer
• Prayer pages contemplative

3. Book 2: Faith-Filled Teens
Audience
• Teens (13–19)
Tone & Feel
• Warm, encouraging, modern
• Not childish — age-respectful
• Muted sage / clay / neutral tones
Interior Enhancements
• Subtle watermark illustrations:

o Stars / arrows / lines
• Watermarks must be:
o Light
o Non-distracting
o Print-friendly (no heavy ink)
Typography
• More open spacing
