Cinematic Workbook Cover Design
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a designer who can turn my rough, low-resolution reference into a print-ready workbook cover (front and back) that feels cinematic, warm and ultimately hopeful. The most critical element for me is the sepia-toned lighting: I want that rich, movie-style contrast that moves visually from dark to light, reinforcing a sense of transformation.
Specs & imagery
• Trim size is 8.75" × 11.25" (300 DPI, full-bleed PDF). There’s no spine because the book will be spiral-bound.
• On the left, a man struggles under heavy luggage; on the right, a woman with a suitcase for a head. These two photos need to flow into one another so smoothly that no seam is detectable. I’ll supply the low-pixel originals; you’ll need to upscale, retouch or creatively rebuild them so everything prints crisply.
• Across the center, add a gentle light burst and broken chains, then finish the whole piece with a subtle vignette and light grain for texture. Please avoid flat lighting—this must look like a movie still.
Typography
CHECK YOUR BAGGAGE (Cinzel or Trajan style, gold, big and bold)
Live and Laugh Again! (italic serif, smaller)
Kathy Hamon (clean serif, bottom-center)
Tone & mood
The cover should instantly communicate “hopeful and uplifting.” Warm, glowing highlights against deeper shadows—almost a sunrise effect—will help achieve this.
Deliverable
A sharp-corner, print-ready PDF with bleed, color and contrast balanced for gloss coating. I’ll review a proof pass to confirm that the lighting, gold type and seamless blend all hit the cinematic look I’m after.
