PrestaShop Expert Needed to Fix Upgrade Issues

Our company has a website that uses PrestaShop. We recently did an upgrade to the latest version 1.7.8.8 and everything worked perfect except the checkout feature. After a customer add the item to the shopping cart and clicks "Proceed to checkout" we get an error HTTP ERROR 500.
The PrestaShop backend works perfect.
Not as critical but we also have an issue with product images. When you click on "View larger" the image opens up but not a big image. The image is shown like the small snippet.
