Delete Images Fix for Prestashop 1.6.1.24 Admin

I'm facing a consistent issue in the Admin Area of a website running on Prestashop 1.6.1.24. The site needs upgrading to a newer version of Prestashop but in the short term we need to get this working as is.
Our customer needed to get the site to pass some security scans, and this required the site to run on a newer version of JQuery. We've taken the site from JQuery 1.11.0 to 3.7.1 and pretty much everything important seems to be working OK, except for the ability to delete images from products. When we click 'delete images' nothing happens. On older JQuery a pop up asked for confirmation, and then the image was deleted.
There are two options here. We either need someone to fix the JQuery code, or to make it so the front end of the site runs using the newer version of JQuery, and the admin area runs using the old version.
I need a skilled Javascript developer with experience in Prestashop to troubleshoot and fix this issue as soon as possible. Please ensure you are familiar with the Prestashop 1.6.1.24 interface.
