my story
Hi, my name is Lenard. I need help getting a used handicap van from united access, insurance, taxes, and title fees, the total is around $40,000. I need the funds ASAP. I have missed several doctor's appointments because my van is missing. I also have missed school this semester because of the missing van.
While in the hospital, my handicapped van was stolen from my driveway. I had been in the hospital for seven months for CHF, COPD, and sores from lymphedema. They drained about one hundred pounds of fluid off of me. So far, I have lost one hundred and thirty pounds.
I use a bariatric wheelchair to get around, and I am getting a powerchair. However, I am stuck at home without my van and can’t get to any appointments because the local transportation companies can’t accommodate a bariatric wheelchair. So, in some ways, I am trapped in my house.
I am not sure exactly what happened; someone was supposed to be watching the house; they told me that when they left my house, my van was in the driveway where it had been for seven months, and when they came back, it was gone. I wonder if they were involved because they didn’t say anything until the ambulance dropped me off at home.
So far, the police have some suspects, but nothing has happened on their end. The insurance company finally paid a thousand but nowhere near enough to get another handicap van.
I need a used handicap van to go to the doctor’s appointments in the store and hopefully back to Webster university for my last five classes for my bachelor’s degree in biology. I need the handicapped van to drive my powerchair into the van and go where I need to go without having to wait for a transportation company that may never show up. It will give me my independence back.
The vans found at unitedaccess.com start at twenty-five thousand dollars, and I will also need full coverage insurance for it, which is 6 Month Total Premium: $743.34. So the vehicle I am looking at is thirty-five thousand. They also have other vehicles available, which I am open to getting. However, I prefer a van that I can enter from the side to drive it; the rear entry is for someone else to drive me; that is not always an option.
