I was inspired to write a book of 226 devotional poems during my 10-year mystic period back in the 70s. In its major release it received over 50 5-star reviews in a matter of days and became an international bestseller within weeks after the launch. I need a person of faith to create a press that gets it out to the world so we can bring some light into the darkness one person at a time. With its included watercolors and these unique poem, there has never been a book like this ever released. Author Christian Howard releases a collection of inspirational verses. He thinks of them as scenic point snapshots for the mind and soul that God wanted him to take and remember from his life-journey on earth, what he calls the National Park of God. Along with Steve Jobs, Dennis Weaver and other Hollywood stars of the time as well as millions of people around the world, back in the ‘70s the author also became a Paramahansa Yogananda devotee. He began what he calls his ten-year ‘mystic period’ during which time he was a totally devoted seeker who through all avenues intended to find and hook up with the father-mother creator we call God. He became obsessed with his search and was not going to stop until he attained the superconscious and opened a door to what Jesus called the 'kingdom of heaven within'. According to the author, he did reach this space and it was during this mystic period that he wrote the poems.
The author reports that the manuscript was stuck away in a drawer for the last 50 years. Now decades after they were written, he took them from where they were hidden in a file, and after reading them, decided their time had come. With all the hate and division in the US, he decided to release them in hopes they would bring some healing love into people’s lives, our country, and the world.
The author claims all these verses were from inspiration, and as he writes –
‘…they happened as I got out of the way to let the spirit wake up inside and speak to me. I felt like Puccini who said he didn’t write Madame Butterfly, just went to where it already existed and wrote it down. These poems flowed into me sometimes six or seven at a time and I just wrote them down and in the book, they're in the order they came.”
Besides the poems, the book includes watercolors painted by his roommate of that time, Keith Mathewson. Without the author’s knowing it, Keith took the manuscript and later returned it with the watercolors in plastic sleeves inserted between the pages where he wanted them to be. The book includes all these watercolors.
The author created a website for the book with some poem and watercolor samples. While many of them are devotional and express the author’s own love for seeking and finding God, most of the verses are inspirational thoughts he hopes readers will find uplifting and add to their own life journeys.
