Freelance Data Scientist/App Developer for Project

JOB SUMMARY:

I’m seeking a freelancer to assist with a project. The project will involve working with data science, machine learning, data scraping, predictive modelling, mathematics, and - potentially - the development of an iOS or web application.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in these areas while working independently and flexibly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Analyse and model data using machine learning techniques
* Develop and implement data scraping solutions
* Create predictive models for data-driven decision making
* OPTIONAL: develop an iOS or Web app, and associated back-end
* Ensure the successful delivery of the project according to agreed timelines and specifications.

EXPERIENCE:

* Strong skills and experience in data science, machine learning, mathematics, data scraping, databases
* Proficiency in relevant technologies, such as:

Python (BeautifulSoup, Selenium), Scrapy
SQL/PostgreSQL
MongoDB
AWS Lambda, Google Cloud, Heroku or a dedicated backend (Node.js/Python)
TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch
XGBoost
Neural Networks
Starscream WebSocket
Python Flask API

* Experience with predictive modelling and statistical analysis
* OPTIONAL: familiarity with iOS (Swift) or Web app development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks like React), and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
* A keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills
* Willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) due to the sensitive nature of the project.

PROJECT TIMELINE:

* This is a short-term freelance project with an expected duration of six weeks, negotiable
* Deliverables must be completed and submitted by the end of this agreed timeframe.

PAYMENT TERMS:

* Payment is contingent upon the successful delivery of the agreed-upon deliverables
* Work that is incomplete, lacks the required quality, or fails to comply with agreed specifications will not be paid for
* 50% of payment will be credited to an escrow account at the start of the project. This will be released, with the outstanding 50%, upon successful completion of the project
* With full payment, all copyrights pertaining to all deliverables transfer to the hirer.

2) I'll reply and disclose the project's specifics to you in a PDF.

3) Once you've familiarised yourself with the specifics, please send me the following:

i) a detailed quote, including:

* an estimate of the total number of hours required to complete the project, broken down into broad sections of work
* your hourly rate(s)
* your total cost for the entire project.

Note: I understand that a Data Scientist may not necessarily have the skills to build a Web/iOS app. If that applies to you, please state it in your application.

ii) a résumé that highlights your relevant skills and experience, including professional referees who can verify your experience and qualifications.

iii) a portfolio of related work or previous projects (e.g., GitHub profile, project portfolio, etc.).
