Setup of 1.5kW Micro Hydropower System for Household Power Supply (PNG Site)

Job ID: 39864905

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am seeking an experienced electrical and renewable energy technician or engineer to design, assemble, and install a micro hydropower system using the XJ25-1.5DCTH4-Z dual nozzle turbine for a household in Papua New Guinea.

The goal is to produce reliable 240VAC, 50Hz power for household consumption with battery storage and inverter backup.
A detailed system layout and wiring diagram (A3 engineering schematic) are already prepared.

System Details:

Main Components:

Micro Hydro Turbine: XJ25-1.5DCTH4-Z, 1.5kW, dual nozzle, 15m head, 12–18 L/s flow

Generator: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG), 230V AC

Charge Controller: TRISHEI S-MPPT-60 or equivalent

Battery Bank: 48V system, 4x12V deep-cycle batteries (200Ah each)

Inverter: Victron VIC-48/3000/35-32 or equivalent (3kW)

Dump Load: Resistive load (e.g., water heater)

AC Distribution Board: ETON 6-way with RCBO and RCD protection

Wiring & Protection:

DC cables: 10 mm² (turbine to rectifier), 6 mm² (controller to battery)

AC cables: 2.5 mm² (inverter to distribution)

Fuse & breaker ratings: 10A (DC input), 60A (main feed), 200A shunt for battery monitoring

Torque settings and terminal blocks detailed in wiring diagram

Scope of Work:

1. Review and validate existing system diagram and component compatibility.

2. Procure, assemble, and wire components according to the provided schematic.

3. Install and commission the system on-site (or remotely guide local technicians).

4. Test power output, battery charging, and inverter operation.

5. Provide documentation on installation, safety, and maintenance.

Deliverables:
