Stock Index Power BI Report
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
For my college assignment I have to deliver a polished Power BI report that compares the performance of three U.S. stock indexes—S&P 500, NASDAQ and Dow Jones. I have the raw idea but not the technical finesse, so the full build needs to come from you.
Scope
• Source (or let me supply) reliable historical data for each index, then shape it in Power Query so the model is clean and refreshable.
• Create DAX measures for percentage change, cumulative return or any other basic metric that makes the comparison meaningful.
• Build the required visuals: an interactive line chart for trend analysis, a bar chart for period-over-period returns, and a pie chart that shows relative proportions or any snapshot view that fits the story.
• Add simple slicers for date range and, if helpful, individual index toggles so I can demonstrate interactivity during the presentation.
• Keep the design straightforward and student-friendly—clear labels, consistent colours and no unnecessary clutter.
Deliverable
A single .pbix file (plus the data files if you retrieve them) ready for immediate submission, along with a brief one-page explanation of the key steps and formulas so I can answer follow-up questions confidently.
That’s all I need to ace this assignment; once the report looks professional and runs smoothly, we’re done.
