HR Report Automation using Power BI and/PowerQuery
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Automate Weekly HR Report — Power Query + Power BI
Job Description
We have a manual weekly HR reporting process (FTE and Overtime) that currently takes 3–4 hours every Monday. Data comes from MS Access, ADP eTime exports, and timesheets emailed from temp agencies. The end output is an executive PowerPoint deck. We want to automate this end-to-end using Power Query and Power BI only — native Microsoft tools, no third-party software, no plugins, no installs.
You will receive two recorded knowledge-transfer videos, written transcripts, a detailed step-by-step tutorial of the current process, and sample input files. You review the materials, ask clarifying questions, and deliver a working refreshable solution in one week.
What You’ll Build
• A master Power Query workbook that pulls all input files from a single folder and produces cleaned FTE, onshore temp, offshore temp, and overtime datasets
• A Power BI dashboard replacing the current PowerPoint slides (FTE summary, FTE trend, overtime summary, overtime trend by region)
• A restructured data model so weekly refresh = drop files in folder + click Refresh All (no more inserting columns or Find & Replace)
• Short user guide and two handoff sessions
