Power BI & Excel Insight Framework
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I have raw student-level assessment data coming in each term and need a lean yet reliable way to turn it into clear, actionable insights. I’d like you to lay the groundwork by building:
• A clean, user-ready Excel template that lets me paste or import the latest assessment results and automatically performs core data shaping (basic validations, calculated fields, standardised date formats).
• A linked Power BI dashboard (.pbix) that reads directly from this template and visualises:
– Performance trends over time (e.g., term-by-term line and bar charts).
– Side-by-side comparisons of different student groups (gender, class, subject) through clustered bars or scatter plots.
– Quick identification of at-risk students via heatmaps or any visual that highlights those falling below a threshold.
– High-level breakdowns in pie charts or tables for snapshot views.
Keep the model straightforward so I can refresh it myself without touching Power Query code—ideally a “paste, save, refresh” workflow. DAX measures should be clearly labelled, and slicers/filters arranged for non-technical staff to explore the data intuitively.
Deliverables:
1. Excel template (with sample dummy data to illustrate structure).
2. Power BI file linked to that template, fully functional with the visuals above.
3. A brief hand-off note or short Loom video walking me through refresh steps and where to tweak group definitions or performance thresholds.
I’m after a clean first version that I can build on later, so focus on clarity and maintainability rather than exhaustive extras. If you’ve done similar education analytics dashboards, please mention it and share a view-only link or screenshots.
