Power BI Dashboard Tutorial
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I already have my SharePoint list connected and refreshing correctly in Power BI; the stumbling blocks start when I try to turn that data into the interactive dashboard shown in my mockups. I need someone to sit with me—screen-share or recorded walkthrough—and explain, step by step, how to rebuild each element so I can maintain the report myself afterward.
What I’m running into:
• Parameters: I’ve sketched out what I need in the mockups, but translating those ideas into working query parameters has me stuck.
• Filters: the date-range slider in particular isn’t behaving. I also want to understand the best way to layer data filters without breaking visuals.
• Drill-down/Drill-through: I’d like to click a high-level chart and instantly dive into record-level details just as the mockup shows.
Ideal flow:
1. Brief review of my .pbix and the mockup so you see the target outcome.
2. Live tutorial where you demonstrate how to add the parameters, configure the slider-range date filter, and wire up drill-down paths.
3. Short design tweaks—legend placement, color consistency, label formatting—to match the mockup.
4. Leave me with clear written or video notes so I can repeat every step on my own.
I work in the current Power BI Desktop release and Office 365 SharePoint Online, so please be comfortable with those. If you know DAX tricks for dynamic titles and bookmarks, even better—show me while we’re at it.
The key deliverable is a fully functioning dashboard that mirrors the mockup plus the tutorial materials I can reference later. I’m ready to start as soon as we agree on a time.
