One-Day Power BI Expense Dashboards
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have a single Excel dump (roughly 1,000 rows × 150 columns) that captures every cost element across the business. From this file I need about 20–25 interactive Power BI pages built within a single working day.
Core focus
• Financial summary views that spotlight Expenses and Cost Analysis as well as broader Operational Analysis.
• Dynamic breakdowns by Department, Time Period, and Project, with easy drill-through between each.
Scope of work
You will import and clean the data, create a robust star schema, write the necessary DAX measures, and design visuals that let me track variance, cumulative spend, budget vs. actual, and any operational KPIs you judge essential. Slicers and bookmarks should make it simple to switch between departments or zoom in on a single project.
Deliverables
• 20–25 finished report pages in a single PBIX file
• All custom measures and calculated columns documented inline
• A publish-ready workspace link (or packaged .pbit template) so I can deploy instantly
• Brief hand-over video or notes outlining filters, data refresh steps, and any gateway settings
Acceptance criteria
The dashboards must refresh cleanly from the source file without manual intervention, all figures must reconcile with the original Excel totals, and navigation between Department, Time Period, and Project views should remain under two clicks.
Tools expected: Power BI Desktop, DAX, Power Query.
I will provide the Excel file immediately on award and can answer clarifying questions in real time to keep the one-day turnaround achievable.
