Automate Law Firm with Power BI
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I run a mid-sized law firm and want to streamline the way our data flows from one department to the next. Right now information about clients, matters, and finances sits in separate systems, which forces staff to juggle spreadsheets and manual reports. My goal is to bring everything into Power BI, automate the repetitive steps, and end up with interactive dashboards that tell us—at a glance—how we’re performing.
Here’s what I need you to do:
• Examine our existing workflows from intake through billing and month-end reporting.
• Design a data model in Power BI that pulls from our practice-management software, accounting platform, and any relevant spreadsheets, using Power Query and DAX to clean and relate the data.
• Build automated refresh routines so the numbers stay current without staff intervention. If Power Automate or similar connectors make this easier, feel free to propose them.
• Develop easy-to-navigate dashboards for partners, team leads, and the finance group. Typical visuals will track matter progress, key financial ratios, and any other metrics you find valuable once you’ve reviewed our processes.
• Provide concise documentation and a quick walkthrough so my in-house analyst can maintain the solution.
Experience with process automation projects is essential; familiarity with the legal sector is a bonus but not mandatory—just be comfortable asking the right questions and translating legal jargon into clean data definitions.
If clear, actionable insight from a single source of truth sounds like your kind of challenge, I look forward to seeing how you can help my team work smarter.
