Advanced Power BI Date Picker
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I need a plug-and-play date picker for Power BI Desktop that goes well beyond the default slicer. The component must:
• Allow users to set their own custom start and end dates, by selected dates on a calender .
• Offer one-click preset ranges such as "Today", “Last 7 Days”,“Last 30 Days”, “Last 90 Days”, "Last 6 Months", "Last 12 Months",“Month-to-Date,” and “Year-to-Date.” (similar to attached sample-datepicker-image.png)
• Adapt dynamically to the underlying data model so that users can never pick a date outside the available fact table range.
• Open/Close as part of a PopUp Filter window on the Dashboard. (example PopUpFilterWindow.png)
All selections should display in DD/MM/YYYY format. I’m comfortable importing a certified custom visual, but if you prefer a parameter/DAX approach that achieves the same smooth UX, I’m open to it. Deliverables I expect:
1. A working PBIX example that shows the date picker interacting with at least one sample measure.
2. Any custom visual files or source code (if you build it yourself) plus clear installation instructions.
3. Step-by-step notes so I can replicate the setup in other reports without breaking existing relationships or refresh schedules.
Keep the solution lean—no external gateways or premium-only features—so it runs locally on Power BI Desktop. If questions come up about model compatibility or performance, please flag them early; I’ll provide a trimmed dataset for testing.
Budget is €100 maximum for this project.
