SharePoint Intranet Booking Tool
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I’m rolling out a SharePoint-based delivery and pickup scheduler that lets our planning manager set daily ceilings for trucks and labour, then allows everyone else—both colleagues and vetted external partners—to reserve slots without ever breaching those limits.
Here’s the flow I have in mind
• The planning manager enters or uploads the available truck count and manpower for each day (and, ideally, for individual time windows).
• Internal or external users visit the intranet page from either desktop or mobile, pick an available slot, and instantly see whether capacity still exists.
• On booking submission the tool locks the slot, updates the capacity balance, and fires off a confirmation email or Teams notification to the requester and the manager.
• If capacity is full, users are steered to the nearest alternative.
I already host the company intranet on SharePoint Online, so the solution must sit natively there—SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Apps + Power Automate, or another Microsoft-365-friendly approach that keeps everything inside our tenant and respects our existing permission groups.
Deliverables I’m expecting
1. A fully responsive SharePoint page or app containing: booking form, capacity logic, calendar-style overview, and user notification hooks.
2. Admin interface for the planning manager to update ceilings quickly (CSV import or manual edit).
3. Automated emails/Teams alerts on create, modify, cancel.
4. Short hand-off guide so we can tweak capacity rules ourselves later.
Acceptance criteria
• No slot can be confirmed if it exceeds the truck or manpower limit defined for that window.
• Bookings render correctly on modern SharePoint pages in Edge, Chrome, and the M365 mobile app.
• Users with existing Microsoft 365 accounts sign in seamlessly; external partners authenticate through the guest mechanism we already use.
