Excel-to-Power Apps Migration
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
My sales and support teams still rely on several linked Excel workbooks to hold customer profiles, order history, and service notes. Maintaining those files is slow, error-prone, and prevents us from building mobile-ready interfaces. I want the entire customer-information ecosystem rebuilt in Microsoft Power Apps and Dataverse so that relationships are enforced, data entry is guided by forms, and users can search and update records from any device.
Current landscape
• Multiple sheets, each focused on a different slice of customer data (profile, contracts, interactions, etc.)
• Manual VLOOKUP links that often break when columns move
• No role-based security or audit trail
Scope of work
• Design a normalized Dataverse schema that captures every field now living in the Excel books and sets up clear one-to-many links (e.g., Customer → Orders → Tickets).
• Build responsive Power Apps screens for adding, editing, and viewing records.
• Recreate the existing cross-sheet lookups with relational references and, where useful, Power Automate flows.
• Migrate all historical rows from the Excel files without data loss.
• Deliver clear documentation so my staff can extend tables and forms later.
Acceptance criteria
1. Each Excel sheet is represented as a table, and all lookup columns resolve to Dataverse relationships.
2. Data integrity rules block duplicates and enforce required fields.
3. Forms load quickly on desktop and mobile and reflect user permission levels.
4. A one-click export demonstrates that row counts in Dataverse match the originals in Excel.
Please include a detailed project proposal outlining your approach to schema design, migration strategy, testing plan, and estimated timeline. Links to past Power Apps or Dataverse work are welcome but not essential if you explain your method clearly.
