Goal
Build an automated solution to detect duplicate company names by comparing company names from Excel with company names in Dataverse, using fuzzy matching and a user approval step.
Requirements
• Use Power Automate (cloud flow)
• No Azure Functions
• No custom plugins
• Fully automated process
• External APIs allowed only via HTTP action
• Must support fuzzy matching (spelling, suffix, language variations)
How It Should Work
• Compare each Excel company name against all Dataverse company names
• Generate a similarity score
• Flag potential duplicates based on a threshold (e.g. 90%)
• Send results for user review using “Start and wait for an approval”
• User can approve (duplicate) or reject (not duplicate)
• Ignore approved duplicates
• Create new Dataverse records only for approved unique companies
