Auto-Update Teams Approval Cards
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I have a Power Automate flow that fires from a D365 FO business event and pushes an “Approval” adaptive card to approvers in both Microsoft Teams and Outlook. The card works fine when the user clicks Approve or Reject directly from the card, but if the same document gets approved inside D365 FO first or any other co-approver (approval group with first to respond), that original adaptive card keeps sitting there as “Waiting for response.”
What I need is the logic—inside the existing flow or an auxiliary solution—that listens for the D365 FO approval, then immediately hits the original adaptive card and flips it to the correct “Approved” (or “Rejected”) state. In other words, the moment the action is taken in D365 FO or any other co-approver (approval group with first to respond), Teams and Outlook must show the final status automatically, no extra clicks.
Key points
• Platforms affected: Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
• Timing: real-time, triggered exactly when the D365 FO business event fires.
• Behaviour: adaptive card should show the final status, disable buttons, and store the response in the same approval record so the audit trail remains clean.
I’d like the flow itself updated and documented so I can maintain it after hand-off. A quick test scenario (demo company in D365 FO is available) and brief setup notes will be required so I can reproduce your result end-to-end.
