Transform Django Prototype into Production SaaS
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
Django Developer Needed: Turn "CRM software for funnels" MVP into Production SaaS (Refactor, Stripe Integration & Deployment)
I am building CRM software for funnels", a SaaS platform similar to Skool.com. It is an all-in-one community platform that combines:
Communities: Forum-style feeds with posts, likes, and comments.
Classroom: Video course hosting and lesson management.
Calendar: Event scheduling for community meetups.
Gamification: User points, levels, and leaderboards to drive engagement.
Monetization: Paid memberships to unlock premium communities.
Current Status:
I have a fully functional MVP built in Django (Python).
The logic for all features above (Communities, Feed, Courses, Events, Gamification, Messaging) is already written and working.
The database structure (Models) and Templates (HTML/CSS) are complete.
Current Limitation: The project was built and prototyped inside a Jupyter Notebook environment. The file structure needs to be standardized, and the code needs to be refactored into a proper, scalable Django project structure.
Scope of Work:
I am looking for an experienced Django developer to take this working MVP and turn it into a production-ready SaaS.
1. Codebase Refactor & Cleanup:
Move the code from my current script/notebook format into a standard, modular Django directory structure (e.g., proper apps/ separation).
Ensure all settings.py configurations (Static files, Media files, Security) are set up for production, not just local development.
Remove any "hacky" fixes used for the prototype (e.g., hardcoded raw SQL patches).
2. Database Migration:
Migrate the database from SQLite (local) to PostgreSQL (production standard).
Ensure all existing models (Users, Communities, Posts, Courses) are preserved or cleanly recreated.
3. Payment Integration (Critical):
Replace my current "Simulated Payment" button with Real Stripe Checkout.
Implement Stripe Webhooks to automatically unlock "Pro Membership" access when a payment succeeds.
Handle subscription cancellations/expirations.
4. Deployment:
Deploy the application to a cloud provider (Render, Railway, Heroku, or DigitalOcean).
Set up AWS S3 for handling user uploads (profile pictures, course thumbnails).
Configure the domain name and SSL certificate (HTTPS).
5. (Optional/Bonus) Frontend Polish:
The current UI is clean (custom CSS), but if you have frontend skills, minor improvements to the mobile responsiveness or converting key components to HTMX/Tailwind would be a plus.
Required Skills:
Backend: Python, Django, Django REST Framework (optional).
Database: PostgreSQL.
Payments: Stripe API (Checkout & Webhooks).
DevOps: Experience deploying Django apps (Gunicorn, Nginx, Docker is a plus).
Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (HTMX or Alpine.js is a bonus).
Deliverables:
A fully refactored GitHub repository with clean, documented code.
A live, deployed website accessible via my domain.
A working Stripe integration where real money is processed and features are unlocked automatically.
