PostgreSQL Database Developer

Our team is midway through building a Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform and the PostgreSQL layer now needs an expert touch. The schema has grown organically; I need someone with 5+ years of solid PostgreSQL experience who can step in, refine the data model, and leave us with a fast, future-proof database.
Your first task will be to review the existing ERD and propose improvements that align with our integration workflows. From there, you’ll redesign tables, constraints, and indexes where necessary, write or refactor the complex SQL that feeds our pipelines, and tune the engine so queries fly. Back-ups and routine maintenance scripts also need tightening to guarantee reliability once we go live.
I’m working on a fixed, project-based arrangement and expect clear milestones—schema redesign, query refactoring, performance benchmarking, and final hand-over with documentation. If you’re comfortable owning data modeling while still polishing query plans and performance settings, let’s talk.
