Intermediate Database Management Coaching
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m looking to sharpen my database-management skills beyond the basics I already know. I can write standard SQL queries and handle routine administration, but I now want focused, hands-on coaching that takes me deeper into topics such as indexing strategies, normalization trade-offs, query optimisation, backup-and-restore planning, and replication.
Ideally, we’ll work through real examples in MySQL or PostgreSQL (I’m comfortable with either), review my current scripts, and then implement best-practice improvements together. Screen-sharing sessions, short assignments between meetings, and clear explanations of why each approach works will help me absorb the material quickly.
By the end of the engagement I aim to:
• Tune at least three of my own queries for measurable performance gains.
• Design a small but fully normalised schema and migrate sample data into it.
• Configure a reliable backup routine and test a full restore.
If you have a strong background in database administration and enjoy mentoring someone who is already at an intermediate level, let’s talk about scheduling our first session.
