Backend-Focused MVP Development: Robotics B2B Marketplace Matching Engine (Next.js / Node.js / PostgreSQL)
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Overview:
We are launching "Nexus Robotics Japan," a B2B marketplace connecting Japanese enterprises with global robotics manufacturers to solve labor shortages. We need an expert developer to build the core system, database architecture, and intelligent matching engine for our Phase 1 MVP.
Note: UI/UX design and complex frontend implementation will be handled separately by a designer. Your main focus will be the system architecture, database, and the rule-based guided search engine.
Key Objective for Phase 1 MVP:
To secure VC funding, this MVP must flawlessly showcase an "Intelligent Matching" Experience. Non-expert users from Japanese factories should be able to find the perfect robot in seconds via an intuitive, dating-app-like button interface.
Scope of Work
1. Database Architecture (PostgreSQL)
Flexible Schema: Needs to handle diverse technical attributes (payload, speed, price, dimensions) across ALL major robot categories (Manufacturing, Logistics, Agriculture, Service, Retail, etc.) from Day 1.
Future-Proofing: Ready for AI-driven vector search (pgvector) and Vendor/Manufacturer Portal roles (RBAC) in Phase 2, though not implemented yet.
2. Guided Solution Search & Rule-Based Matching Engine
A step-by-step user flow to narrow down options based on: Industry ➔ Budget ➔ Timeline ➔ Challenges/Pain Points (e.g., efficiency, labor shortage).
Objective matching logic that queries the DB based on technical specs and instantly displays recommended robots.
3. Admin Dashboard (Super Simple / Minimalist)
A basic, functional interface for our internal team to manage robot listings, categories, and leads.
Must support a robust CSV/JSON import pipeline for schema-validated bulk data ingestion.
4. Frontend & Localization (Next.js)
Language: Client-facing UI is strictly Japanese-only for Phase 1. Database/Infrastructure should be English-friendly for global data ingestion.
Pages Required: Homepage/LP (SEO-first), Robot Category/Listings, Robot Detail Page, Guided Search Flow, and a simple Inquiry Form.
5. Infrastructure & Deployment
Docker-based setup.
Deployment on Hetzner hosting with S3-compatible media storage.
What is OUT of Scope for Phase 1 (Do NOT Estimate)
Multi-language frontend UI (Japanese only for now).
AI/LLM-based recommendation logic (Rule-based filtering for MVP).
Vendor/Manufacturer accounts (Admin account only).
Analytics, CRM integrations, Case Studies, and Market data charts.
Tech Stack
Frontend: Next.js (SSR/SSG for SEO)
Backend: Node.js environment
Database: PostgreSQL
DevOps: Docker, Hetzner, S3-compatible storage
Timeline
Target: 4 to 5 weeks to a production-ready demo.
