Alarm Module & Android Alerts

I need a self-contained module that captures hardware fault alarms, routes them through my existing back-end, and pushes real-time notifications straight to Android devices.

The job covers three tightly linked parts:
• Alarm Handling – detect, classify, and log hardware-fault events coming from my system.
• Push Notifications – issue instant, reliable alerts via Firebase Cloud Messaging so users know the moment a fault occurs.
• Settings – expose basic on/off and severity-filter controls so users can tune what they receive without touching the code.

You’ll be working inside an established stack (Node.js + PostgreSQL on the server, Kotlin on the Android app). Well-structured code, concise documentation, and a quick test plan that shows the alerts firing from a simulated hardware fault will be the acceptance criteria.
