AWS Aurora Database Optimization Expert Needed

AWS Aurora RDS Database Optimization Freelancer (PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM Expertise Required)
Project Description:
We are Entugo, a growing startup building an all-in-one customer loyalty and digital marketing platform for food and beverage businesses (restaurants, cafes, bars, etc.) in markets like the UK, Germany, and India. Our platform helps convert first-time visitors into loyal customers through QR-based engagement, automated discounts, loyalty coins, CRM tools, and analytics. We're currently in post-beta launch and scaling our operations.

We're seeking an experienced Database Freelancer to optimize our AWS Aurora RDS setup (PostgreSQL-compatible). Our current database is incurring high costs due to poor optimization and suboptimal instance selection. We need someone to audit, refactor, and implement cost-saving improvements while ensuring performance and scalability for our growing user base.

Key challenges we're facing:

High AWS costs from inefficient queries, indexing, and resource allocation.
Need for better instance sizing and configuration to handle increasing traffic without overprovisioning.
Integration with our stack, including Prisma as our ORM for TypeScript/Node.js.

What we need you to do:

Conduct a thorough audit of our existing Aurora RDS database schema, queries, and performance metrics.
Optimize queries, indexes, and data structures to reduce latency and costs.
Recommend and implement the right AWS instance types, scaling strategies (e.g., read replicas, auto-scaling), and cost-management features like reserved instances or savings plans.
Ensure seamless compatibility with Prisma ORM – refactor schemas or migrations if needed.
Provide documentation and best practices for ongoing maintenance to prevent future issues.
Optionally, advise on monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Performance Insights) for proactive optimization.

This is a short-term project (estimated 10-20 hours initially, with potential for ongoing support). We can provide access to our AWS environment and codebase for review.
Skills Required:
Expert in AWS Aurora RDS (PostgreSQL engine) – proven experience with optimization, cost reduction, and scaling.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL (queries, indexing, partitioning, vacuuming, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Prisma ORM (schema design, migrations, query optimization).
Familiarity with AWS services like EC2, CloudWatch, and cost management tools.
Bonus: Experience with Node.js/TypeScript stacks, database performance tuning for SaaS platforms, or similar loyalty/CRM systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with clear communication.
