Am I a Donkey or an Elephant? Finding my political identity.

I'm looking to create an accurate and unbiased guide for the average young adult, or any adult who is truly weighing the impact of their vote and wondering if they are voting for the person or party that shares the same principles as their own. When I was in middle school, our civics teacher had our class vote on the U.S President that was taking place that year between George Bush and Al Gore. At that time, I didn't know much about the parties or politics in general but I made a random choice for Bush only to realize later in life that I'm a far left Democrat. Needless to say, I'm glad I was too young to actually vote but that assignment is what ultimately sparked my desire to find my political identity and on that journey, I tried to go about it the simple way by just googling it and I found that it wasn't that simple. Republicans are widely demonized as bigots and Democrats are portrayed as unpatriotic socialists and it's really not that black and white. I don't want this to be one sided, I want it to be completely a book of facts without favoring one side or the other.
