Networked Pharmacy POS with Reporting
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m rolling out a new point-of-sale application for our pharmacy and need a complete, ready-to-install solution that runs smoothly on both Windows and Mac workstations. The system has to cover day-to-day tasks for pharmacists at the dispensary, cashiers at the front counter, and managers in the back office while keeping every terminal in sync over the local network and sending scheduled reports to email.
The core modules must include reliable inventory management (batch and expiry tracking, low-stock alerts), real-time sales tracking with receipt printing, and basic customer management for loyalty or prescription history lookups. Because we operate multiple tills, the database should update instantly between machines without corrupting data, and user roles should limit what each team member can see or edit.
Email capability is essential: end-of-day Z-reports, inventory variance summaries, and monthly sales snapshots should reach predefined addresses automatically in PDF or CSV format. I’d also like straightforward configuration screens so a non-technical manager can change email recipients or schedule frequency.
Deliverables
• Cross-platform installer (Windows 10+ and recent macOS versions)
• Multi-terminal networking setup guide and script or configuration file
• Source code or compiled binaries, clearly versioned
• Sample data set and user manual covering pharmacist, cashier, and manager workflows
• Demonstration of automated email reports running from two linked machines
I’ll test by connecting two computers on our network, entering sample sales, and confirming that inventory updates and emails land in my inbox without manual intervention. Once those checks pass, the job is done.
