FactoryTalk View ME Report Print Buffering and Data Retention Enhancement -- 2
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
We are using FactoryTalk View Studio v14 (Machine Edition) with a MicroLogix 1400 PLC. Currently, our HMI prints reports directly to a local printer. However, if there's a printer issue (e.g., communication error or out of paper), the report data is lost because the system deletes it immediately after issuing the print command.
We are looking for an experienced Rockwell/Automation freelancer who can help us implement a solution to:
• Retain report data temporarily (in HMI memory, CSV, or PLC buffer)
• Ensure printing only deletes the report after successful completion
• Store data for 1–2 days in case of printer unavailability
• Optionally, log the print status and/or reprint if needed
Deliverables:
• Updated HMI logic or workaround to hold data until print is confirmed
• Optionally store reports in CSV or TXT format
• Documentation of the changes made
Skills Required:
• Rockwell Automation (FactoryTalk View ME)
• Allen-Bradley HMI and PLC programming
• MicroLogix 1400
• Experience handling printer integration and fail-safes
