Extract iFIX 4.0 Tags Offline
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I have an ageing GE iFIX 4.0 SCADA node running on Windows XP that can’t be networked or put online. All I need is the tag database for a set of specific points; however, I’m not yet sure how many tags there are and my list may reach you in whatever format I can pull together—Excel, a text file, maybe even a scanned page.
Your task is to help me get those tags out of the locked-down machine and into a clean, shareable file (CSV or XML is fine). Because remote access is impossible, I’ll either follow detailed step-by-step instructions you provide or run any lightweight utility or script you supply (VBScript, PowerShell 1.0–compatible, or a Workspace VBA macro) directly on the PC. No changes to the live project—just a safe export from the iFIX database manager.
Deliverable
• One export file containing only the tags on my list, clearly mapped with their full attributes.
• Clear, repeatable procedure so I can rerun the extraction later without your assistance.
