Complete IB Physics IA Guidance

I’m beginning my IB Physics Internal Assessment completely from scratch—no data collected yet—and I want structured support from the idea stage all the way to the final write-up.

What I need is a mentor who can first help me narrow down a manageable research question that fits the IB rubric and the equipment typically found in a school lab. From there, I’d like a clear experimental plan that details apparatus, safety considerations, and a realistic timetable for gathering reliable data. Once the data are in hand, I’ll also need guidance on processing, uncertainty calculations, graphing, and critical evaluation so the final report meets criterion marks for Personal Engagement, Exploration, Analysis, Evaluation, and Communication.

Preferred tools for analysis are Logger Pro, Excel, or Python (NumPy, Matplotlib), but I’m happy to adapt to whatever workflow you recommend as long as it produces defensible results and professional-looking graphs. I have roughly four weeks until my first draft is due, so consistent check-ins and quick feedback will be essential.
