Create an online program to draw data from Etsy API.
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm looking for someone who can create an online program utilizing Etsy's API. The program will draw data from Etsy. This data will be used by Etsy sellers to help in their marketing efforts.
The program could be either a Wordpress plugin or a standalone online program with a simple html interface. This should be a fairly simple program for an experienced programmer, but it could expand into a much larger program over the coming year.
Etsy’s API webpage is https://www.etsy.com/developers. We are not looking for someone to develop a website, we’re looking for an online program to do the following:
OVERVIEW:
Etsy does not provide their sellers with very accurate or complete information about how many people have an item in their shopping cart. Yet it is my belief that it is important for Etsy sellers to know how many people have placed their products into an abandoned shopping cart. Sometimes Etsy will say something to a shopper that says things like “better hurry, only 3 left, and 10 people have this in their cart”. If I’m looking at statistics for the items in a shop, there could be 15 people who have an item in their cart, but my seller interface might show 3 or maybe even none. Customers might see a different number. I have proven this with a group of testers. That is why I am looking for a way to reliably determine that information.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The program will have a very simple form on a page, where there is simply one field where I can enter any Etsy product URL. (Either mine or someone else’s) or a list of URLs. It doesn’t need to have any fancy graphical interface at all, just an entry field and an enter button.
After I hit the "enter" button, the program will query that URLor those URLs if there were more than one, and return back the number of people who have it in their shopping cart. The program will return and as much info as possible about that user. The information should be exportable into a spreadsheet format.
The more information we can find about that particular potential customer the better. Besides the number of people who have that item in their shopping cart, we would ideally want to know the Etsy user ID of each person, who has placed the item in their shopping cart and what date it was entered. If possible we would like to have their email address and first name.
From this information my team and I will begin testing some ideas we’re working on with some Etsy sellers.
